The Birmingham community will have access to free health screenings and services Saturday, April 2, as Live HealthSmart Alabama hosts the first Spring Into Wellness event.
Spring Into Wellness, held at Legion Field from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., will offer several free services, including health screenings, activities and healthy lifestyle demonstrations.
“Using decades of research and our strong relationships in the community, we know that barriers to receiving health care exist — one of the most notorious being access,” said Mona N. Fouad, M.D., chief executive officer of Live HealthSmart Alabama. “At the core of everything we do, Live HealthSmart Alabama aims to make good health simple. To do that, our team identifies obstacles and how we can overcome them. Spring Into Wellness is a community event that helps achieve our mission by bringing good health to the community and getting people the help they need.”
Vendors at the event will offer health screenings, interactive activities, and information focused on health, wellness, physical activity, education and good nutrition.
“We have high hopes for this health fair. The list of vendors is very diverse, and we are checking all the boxes of what the community needs,” said Kimberly M. Speights, community engagement manager for Live HealthSmart Alabama. “We are so excited to be able to go into the community and offer such a range of services. Everyone can benefit from attending because there’s something for everyone.”
