Student research is the driving force behind innovation in the next generation. Alabama Power and the University of Alabama at Birmingham have partnered to create an innovation grant that enables students to further their innovative research to improve communities in Alabama.
Two awards of $5,000 each will be given to students at the UAB Fall Research Expo, which showcases research and service learning projects produced by UAB undergraduates and other students in UAB fall research programs. Alabama Power representatives will judge projects based on levels of innovation and creativity, as well as the student’s speaking skills and presentation abilities. The 2019 Fall Expo will be held Dec. 2-3 in the Hill Student Center. Awards will be presented after the keynote speaker, Nancy P. Wingo, Ph.D., on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
