Blazers have access to one new degree program and three new graduate certificate programs, creating additional pathways for student success.The University of Alabama at Birmingham is continuing to blaze the way for current and future students to have a brighter future by launching one new degree program and three new graduate certificates.

Higher education intercollegiate athletic administration
The Master of Science in Higher Education Intercollegiate Athletics Administration in the School of Education and Human Sciences is designed for students who are interested in becoming administrators in collegiate athletics, both sports and e-sports. Students will get a broad understanding of the purpose and value of athletics in the higher education setting, as well as preparation for the critical administrative skills needed to manage college sports programs. Curriculum will cover topics such as policy, governance, risk, ethics and leadership.
New graduate certificates
The Collat School of Business is offering three new graduate certificates.
The Graduate Certificate in Business in the Health Sector is designed for current and aspiring healthcare professionals and equips graduates to make informed financial decisions that support quality care delivery, organizational sustainability and strategic growth across diverse healthcare settings. The 15-credit-hour curriculum explores business management, health policy, financial reporting, and legal and ethical considerations specific to the healthcare industry.
The Graduate Certificate in Business Leadership and Professional Growth emphasizes organizational planning, leadership dynamics, finance, team building, conflict resolution and communication. Graduates will learn how to drive organizational success, influence stakeholders and advance confidently in competitive professional landscapes.
The Graduate Certificate in Financial Analytics for Decision-Making provides students with the analytical and strategic skills that today’s data-intensive financial landscape demands. Students will build competencies in financial data analysis, forecasting, risk management and ethical financial practices while learning to communicate complex financial insights effectively.
New name, same quality
The Graduate Certificate in Digital Marketing is now the Graduate Certificate in Marketing in the Digital Era. Students will explore the world of integrated marketing communications, which combines digital marketing tools with traditional marketing methods to create a seamless consumer experience across media channels — both online and in person.
The Graduate Certificate in Information Technology Management is now the Graduate Certificate in Information Technology Strategy and Operations. Students will study technology planning and capital budgeting, governance and management, and incident response and business continuity to understand the pivotal role that technology plays in a company’s success.
The Graduate Certificate in Mentoring and Leadership is now the Graduate Certificate in Mentoring and Reflective Professional Practice. Students will build expertise in evidence-based mentoring and reflective practice to enhance their effectiveness as a mentor and leader.
