The Southeastern Electro-Acoustic Composers Collective will present a concert of new electronic music and video art by its members at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at theThe free concert will be held in the Mary Culp Hulsey Recital Hall, hosted by the College of Arts and Sciences’ Department of Music.
The program will include two pieces for clarinet and interactive electronics, “16 Veils” by Jorge Variego and “Reflejos” by Martín Gendelman; “A House Lost in the Forest” for piano and fixed media by David R. Peoples; “Chopawamsic” for trumpet and fixed media by Joe L. Alexander, to be performed by UAB Associate Professor of Music James Zingara; “Triptiek” for saxophone, bassoon and fixed media by Peter Van Zandt Lane; a quadraphonic video piece titled “shift.smear’” by UAB Adjunct Professor Matthew Bryant; and “I/O (a manifesto, a lecture, an interview)” by UAB Associate Professor of Music William Price.
