University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center presents “A Dickens Vest Pocket Christmas Carol” on Saturday, Dec. 17.
Bring the family for a joyful, fun celebration of the holiday spirit when theThe original adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic “A Christmas Carol” is created by, directed by and stars beloved Alys Stephens Center staff member Jerry Sims. Join the Cratchets, Tiny Tim, all the Spirits and Ebenezer Scrooge on his journey toward redemption and enlightenment.

The Alys Stephens Center will present free Meet the Artist school shows at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14 and at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, for hundreds of area elementary and middle school children.

Heath Mixon as Bob Cratchet/Fezziwig; Darell Revel as Marley’s Ghost/Charity Man/Old Joe; Holly Croney Dikeman as Mrs. Cratchet/Ghost of Christmas Present; Linsey Culver as Millie/Mrs. Dilber; Jessica Holdnak as Martha Cratchet/Belle/Fanny; Nathan Merritt as Fred/Dick Wilkens/Ghost of Christmas Future; Chance Novalis as Peter Cratchet/Young Scrooge/Topper; and Marek Mangina as Tiny Tim.
Set and costume design is by Ed and Mary Gurney, with stage management by Mindy Egan and technical direction by Dana Pharo.
