UAB Professor of Piano and Artist-in-Residence Yakov Kasman will open a new season for the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra with a performance of Rachmaninov’s Second Piano Concerto Sept. 22 and 24, 2011, in Dayton, Ohio.
On Oct. 15, Kasman will perform with his daughter Aleksandra with the Brevard Symphony in Melbourne, Fla.
Kasman then will perform two recitals in Texas: Oct. 22 in Temple, presented by the Central Texas Orchestral Society and the Temple Symphony Orchestra, and Oct. 23 in Georgetown, presented by the Georgetown Symphony Society.
Kasman will be a soloist with KBS Orchestra, one of the most famous orchestras in South Korea, in Seoul Nov. 3-4.Back in the United States, he will perform with Nikolai Lugansky in Miami Nov. 13 and with New York Chamber Soloists in Brock Recital Hall at Samford University in Birmingham Nov. 20.
Early next year he will play in Paris, France, with Orchestre Lamoureux in Theatre des Champs Elysees — considered one of the most important concert halls in the world — Jan. 29, 2012, and at Theatre de Rungis in the city of Rungis, France, on Jan. 31, 2012.
