AMENDBannerJoin the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Public Health to learn about the history of quilting and participate in a sewing session Tuesday, Sept. 13, from 5-8 p.m. at the Ryals Public Health Building.

The event, A(MEND), focuses on the idea that everyone can make small, intentional changes that can positively impact their communities.

The event will take place in two parts. Attendees will participate in a discussion of the history of sewing in social change movements, followed by a sewing session in which attendees will stitch together what A(MEND) means to them and how art can advocate for the changes we wish to see.

The event is free, but registration is required.
