UAB Athletics is partnering with the Alabama Department of Public Health and their KICK COVID campaign to host a vaccine clinic Saturday, Oct. 23, at Protective Stadium, in conjunction with the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s homecoming football game against Rice University.
KICK COVID is a statewide program launched by the ADPH and Bruno Event Team to offer COVID-19 vaccinations and testing at football game days in Alabama. By reaching fans at college football games, the ADPH hopes to promote vaccine uptake and awareness throughout the state.
The KICK COVID clinic will be located in Blazer Village from 11:30 a.m. until one hour after the UAB/Rice football game concludes. Both Pfizer and Moderna vaccines will be available.
Any UAB student, faculty/staff member, or fan who receives a first, second or third dose of a COVID vaccine between the dates of Oct. 9 and 30 will be eligible for a $75 UAB campus bookstore gift card. To receive the gift card, those eligible must upload proof of vaccination by Oct. 30.
