Aliaksei Salei, M.D., a faculty member in UAB's Interventional Radiology department, has been selected to participate in the Developing Emerging Administrative Leaders (DEAL) program. DEAL offers promising UAB staff the opportunity to gain broad exposure to key areas of university administration and management, including human resources, finance, research, education, and clinical services.
Salei received his medical degree from Belarusian State Medical University in Minsk, Belarus. He completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Mercy Catholic Medical Center in Pennsylvania and went on to complete a fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at UAB. Following his fellowship, he joined UAB's faculty, focusing on interventional radiology.
His clinical interests encompass oncologic interventions, including chemoembolization, radioembolization, and ablation. He is also experienced in prostatic artery embolization, portal hypertension interventions, kyphoplasty, and interventional pain management.
The UAB community congratulates Salei on this well-deserved recognition and is confident that his leadership and expertise will continue to contribute to the advancement of both the department and the institution as a whole.
