I was born and raised in Isfahan, a large city in central Iran. I immigrated to the United States in 2020 and have been living in Birmingham for the past four years.
Why did you choose to work at UAB?
My husband and I joined UAB as research fellows during the COVID-19 pandemic. We completed our neuroradiology fellowship at the institution. Our clinical experience at UAB significantly enhanced our diagnostic abilities in neuroradiology. The exceptional educational environment and supportive staff inspired us to pursue faculty positions.

My research and fellowship experiences cultivated a keen interest in exploring novel areas within neuroradiology, fostering collaborative relationships with other clinicians, and engaging in the education of residents and medical students.
What are your professional interests?
My primary clinical interest lies in brain abnormalities, particularly tumors. I am dedicated to studying tumor response to therapy, as well as tracking disease progression and regression. UAB’s extensive caseload provides an exceptional opportunity for this research.
