Veeranjaneyulu (Vee) Prattipati, M.D., was announced as the permanent section chief for neuroradiology, effective June 1, 2024.
Prattipati obtained his medical degree from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, Karnataka, India, followed by fellowships at UAB in interventional radiology and neuroradiology. He joined the UAB faculty in August of 2017.
He has been serving as the interim section chief for neuroradiology for the last year and has done a remarkable job with the role. He is currently assistant professor and program director for the neuroradiology fellowship program. In addition to being a member of the medical faculty at the UAB Heersink School of Medicine, he also served as a staff radiologist at the Birmingham Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Radiology and obtained subspecialty certification in vascular and interventional radiology and neuroradiology.
Prattipati serves in departmental and institutional leadership roles. He is a member of the UAB Medicine Stroke Committee. Within Radiology, he serves on the Program Evaluation and Clinical Competency Committees. He is also a member of the CT Modality Working Group and Quality Council. He was on the original Radiology Physician Incentive Plan Committee, now the Radiology Compensation Committee.
