The Department of Psychiatry initiated a pre-doctoral clinical psychology internship in 1965. Soon after, UAB joined forces with the Birmingham Veterans Affairs Medical Center to start the UAB-BVAMC Internship Consortium. Due to significant growth in our psychology services since that time, the consortium was officially dissolved in 2024. UAB and the Birmingham VA are now each independently accredited internship sites and continue to provide high-quality psychology training.

The UAB Clinical Psychology internship now offers five internship slots, three of which are adult-focused and two that are child-focused. Please see the attached brochure for the most up-to-date information.
