UAB Marnix E. Heersink School of MedicineDepartment of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation's residency program ranks in the top 25 by reputation in Doximity’s Residency Navigator.
The UAB PM&R Residency Program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and is a 4-year categorical residency program. There are currently 16 residents in the program (4 residents per year). To date, 130 residents have been trained in the UAB PM&R residency program, with alumni in all areas of PM&R across the country.
Dale Colorado, D.O., Vice Chair of Education and Residency Program Director, is excited about the direction and growth of the program, “Ranking 21st in the nation and being recognized among the very best is a true testament to the work that we are doing with our residents.” He added, “Our residents receive comprehensive training in all areas of PM&R, and our graduates place in a wide variety of fellowships and practice settings. We continually strive to improve our program.”
