The UAB Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Assistant is thrilled to welcome our new education coordinator, Savannah Tinsley!
About Savannah
Savannah has been married to her husband, Joey, for seven years. They have a beautiful daughter, Amelia, who just turned five and will start kindergarten this fall.
Savannah is originally from Birmingham and attended Jefferson State Community College for her degree in applied science for radiology. Savannah began her journey at UAB shortly after graduating and has since has been with the Department of Radiology.
It was during her employment as a full-time radiology tech, that she began her bachelor of science in health care management at UAB. From there, Savannah landed the role of education coordinator for the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
About her role
Savannah will assist program directors, Drs. Michelle Turnley and Conley Carr, as well as education administrator, Lauren Hanhauser, MA, to ensure our residents receive proper guidance and support during their time here. She will assist in program-level policy development, act as a liaison between residents and hospital administration, and foster relationships with internal and external hospitals and departments regarding our residents. In addition, Savannah will perform all MATCH responsibilities and correspond with newly matched residents about requirements and processes.
"I’m incredibly excited for this new journey and look forward to helping make a difference here in the UAB Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation," says Savannah.
