Todd Green, Ph.D., Curtis Hendrickson, and Sunnie Thompson, Ph.D.UAB recently recognized nine individuals for their years of service in the Department of Microbiology, ranging from five years up to 20 years. The UAB Service Awards honors employees who have made a significant career commitment to UAB with recognition happening at every five-year milestone.
The Department of Microbiology had three 20-year Service Awards recipients for 2025, marking longstanding dedication within the department. Those individuals are Todd Green, Ph.D., Curtis Hendrickson, and Sunnie Thompson, Ph.D.
"These service milestones represent far more than years on a calendar—they reflect a collective spirit of excellence, loyalty, and care for one another," said J. Victor Garcia-Martinez, Ph.D., professor and chair of the Department of Microbiology. "I am continually inspired by the people in our department, whose devotion and collegiality embody the very best of the culture we strive to uphold in UAB Microbiology.”
