The UAB Center for Clinical and Translational Science is accepting applications for a six-month certificate program that provides additional training for those interested in an academic career in clinical and translational research.
Junior faculty, postdoctoral fellows and students in graduate-level, degree-granting programs, professional schools or postdoctoral training programs are encouraged to apply. Eligibility extends to all UAB schools, the UAB School of Medicine programs in Huntsville, Tuscaloosa, Montgomery and Selma, any institutions of the UAB CCTS Partner Network and Samford University’s McWhorter School of Pharmacy.
The 2015 RFA is now available. Apply by Nov. 17.
The CTS Training Program will meet 8-10 a.m. Wednesdays, January-June 2015. Videoconference access is available for those not on the UAB campus.
Department chairs and division directors are asked to help identify and encourage trainees with potential for an academic career in clinical and translational research to apply to this program.

The NIH Clinical and Translational Science Awards program supports a national consortium of institutions charged with transforming the way biomedical research is conducted. Its goals are to accelerate the translation of laboratory discoveries into treatments for patients, engage communities in clinical research efforts and train a new generation of clinical and translational researchers.
