The Marnix E. Heersink Institute for Biomedical Innovation held a Grand Rounds presentation with speaker Byron W. Lai, Ph.D., assistant professor in the UAB Department of Pediatrics, within the Division of Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine, on Thursday, March 14.
Lai is positioned within the UAB/Lakeshore Foundation Research Collaborative and is a member of the Children's of Alabama Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine Team. His research interests focus on incorporating technology to increase the reach and sustainability of exercise trials for people with disabilities.
Lai uses virtual reality technology to improve care delivery in pediatrics. In this Grand Rounds presentation, he shares how becoming an expert in the technology available allows health care professionals to offer the most effective care possible to their patients.
