On April 25, 2023, Anupam Agarwal, M.D., dean of the Heersink School of Medicine, welcomed faculty members and their families to the Endowed Chairs and Professorships Reception. Recipients were honored, and donors who generously contributed to the endowed chairs and professorships were recognized.
Endowed chairs and professorships give donors the opportunity to make a transformational impact in an area that is important to them.
This spring, the Heersink School of Medicine celebrated six newly established endowments as well as 11 appointments to endowments, bringing the total number of endowed chairs and professors in the school to 241.
Additionally, another recent accomplishment is the establishment of the first endowed professorship in the Department of Medical Education, generously gifted by the Head family.
Faculty retention is a key initiative of the Heersink School of Medicine, and continuing to grow endowed positions is vital to achieving increased retention of our nationally recognized faculty. To continue to drive this initiative, the school aims to continue to increase the number of endowed chairs and professors by 25%.
