Students at the UAB Heersink School of Medicine will once more provide comedic insight into the life of a medical student at the Best Medicine Show, an annual night of video skits and live acts.
This year, show watchers can participate from the comfort of their homes. The show begins streaming online at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 4. Tickets are $15.
Proceeds for the event benefit Equal Access Birmingham, a student-run program that operates as a free primary care clinic for underserved people in the Birmingham area.
The Best Medicine Show is hosted by the Heersink School of Medicine student body and presented by UAB’s Departments of Medicine and Surgery.
The prerecorded live stream debuting March 4 will be taped live on Friday, Feb. 25 at the Lyric Theatre in front of a limited audience. Best Medicine Show producer Cameron Lee said a hybrid pre-recorded show is the best way to have the classic feel of the in-person sketch show and be able to include faculty, staff, and residents with the limited capacity due to COVID-19.
