The third edition of the spring Dine with the Docs event, featuring student-selected faculty guests, hit its stride this year. The Medical Alumni Association hosted eight faculty members and 40 students in varying years of medical school. The evening began with a brief wine and beer mixer, followed by 30-minute courses that allowed students to interact with various faculty over dinner. For faculty, this end-of-the-academic-year event is a fun way to wrap up activities with students.
Three faculty who previously attended returned this year: Harish Doppalapudi, M.D., associate professor in the Division of Cardiovascular Disease; Vineeta Kumar, M.D., professor in the Department of Medicine and clinical director of the MS1 Renal Module; and Craig Hoesley, M.D., senior associate dean for medical education and professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases. Five faculty were new to the event: Hussein Abdul-Latif, M.D., professor in the Department of Pediatrics; Silvio Litovsky, M.D., professor in the Department of Pathology; Suzanne Oparil, M.D., distinguished professor of medicine and professor in the Division of Cardiovascular Disease; Erin Cook, M.D., assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology; and Shawn Galin, Ph.D., associate professor in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine and director of the Office of Standardized Patient Education.
