Clinical trials from the final UAB Department of Medicine (DOM) divisions, listed below, recently went live in OnCore, marking the successful completion of another major phase of the implementation plan. Three other DOM divisions—Endocrinology, Cardiology, and Infectious Diseases—joined CCTS and the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center as users of the OnCore clinical trials management system (CTMS) in December 2017. OnCore is replacing the older, and no longer supported, SiteMinder system.

Training for the first "wave" of end users began Oct. 18 and ran through Dec. 15, 2017. OnCore training resumed on Jan. 2, 2018. More than 235 attendees have participated in the OnCore trainings, including focused sessions on its protocol, calendar, and subject management features. Wave 2 of the OnCore rollout is on track for an April 23 go-live, when 80 percent or more of trials with billables will be captured.
