Valerie Montgomery Rice, M.D., FACOG, president and dean of the Morehouse School of Medicine, will present the annual Women in Medicine and Science lecture on Wednesday, March 22 at noon in the Margaret Cameron Spain Auditorium.
Rice is the sixth president of the Morehouse School of Medicine and the first women to lead the free-standing medical institution. She was the founding director of the Center for Women’s Health Research at Meharry Medical College. She has received numerous accolades and honors, including the 2017 Horatio Alger Award and the American Medical Women’s Association Elizabeth Blackwell Medal in 2011.
The lecture and lunch, sponsored by the School of Medicine Office of Diversity and Inclusion, is in celebration of International Women’s Day and National Women’s History Month. Boxed lunches will be provided for the first 300 attendees.
