University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Neurosurgery Professor Curtis J. Rozzelle, M.D., was recently voted into the prestigious Society of Neurological Surgeons.
The Society of Neurological Surgeons is the oldest neurosurgical professional society in the world and its membership is comprised of U.S. academic department chairs, residency program directors, and other educational leaders.The society serves as the representative body for neurosurgery to the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and sponsors the Association of Residency Administrators in Neurological Surgery.
New members of the society must be nominated by a current SNS member and must demonstrate excellence in the practice and study of surgery of the nervous system.
Rozzelle joins three other UAB Department of Neurosurgery faculty - James Markert, M.D., MPH, Jerry W. Oakes, M.D., and Mark N. Hadley, M.D. - as distinguished members.
