Shaping the Future of Family Medicine 

2020 was an extraordinarily unprecedented year due to the challenges that we faced as a department and community. The COVID-19 global pandemic, a movement to combat racial injustice, and a presidential election brought tension to many homes. While isolation and division are natural reactions, our department is proud of our group and the community's willingness to lead, bring people together, and innovate. In addition to UAB School of Medicine’s main campus in Birmingham, four regional campuses provide opportunities for educating physicians in family medicine and primary care, with concentrations in rural or urban underserved populations.
