When Department of Medicine Chair Dr. Seth Landefeld came to UAB in September of 2012, he remembers being immediately impressed with the warm welcome. “The people were just extraordinary.” Ten years later, he still thinks the people are what makes UAB exceptional and notes how much we have done together.
More Good News for October 28, 2022
We have trained over 500 residents and fellows, taught over 1,000 medical students, and cared for more than 1 million patients. We’ve made exciting discoveries that will change the lives of those living with disease and nearly doubled NIH funding to more than $100 million. We’ve also cared for each other in ways we never dreamed would be necessary as we faced a pandemic that challenged every aspect of our medical enterprise.
Now that we are beyond the worst of the pandemic, Landefeld says he remains confident of one thing. UAB’s generous, dedicated, talented people will thrive for decades to come.
