Colleagues submitted impressive nomination letters detailing Thomas’ indispensable contribution to her team. Nominator Amy Dobelstein reflects, “Over the 20 plus years I have worked with Dr. Thomas, she has displayed the UAB shared values in countless ways. I had a front row seat to her proactive management of both projects and people.” Dobelstein admires Thomas' leadership and her unique ability to make every one on the team feel valued, to support them in actualizing their potential, and to inspire them to pursue professional development.

Kelly Hardy explains, “She is an amazing team leader displaying a high level of excellence and achievement by reaching over 96 percent of the projected goal of the research study CARDIA all while facing a global pandemic. She exemplifies everything UAB stands for and supports the overall mission of the University serving with grace and humility.”
