Tayleur White, Ph.D., a member of the Sasanka Ramanadham, Ph.D., Lab, successfully defended her dissertation on Tuesday, September 12.
White’s doctoral dissertation, titled “Select Lipid Signaling Derived from T-Cells is an Important Contributor to Type 1 Diabetes Development,” was a culmination of her research efforts over her many years of training.
White’s committee members included:

The same week, White also won a first-place award for her oral presentation at the UAB Department of Cell, Developmental and Integrative Biology Retreat at Lake Guntersville State Park. The title of her talk was “Importance of Lipid Signaling from T-Cells Towards Type 1 Diabetes Development”.
Later this year, White will continue her career in research at MD Anderson in Houston, TX.
