
Snehal Khatri, M.D.
Dr. Khatri is a board certified general and developmental and behavioral pediatrician and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has been with UAB Civitan Sparks Clinics since Dec 2001. She received her medical degree at the University of Alabama School of Medicine and completed pediatrics and developmental pediatrics training at UAB. She is the Medical Director of UAB Sparks Pediatrics, a primary care clinic with emphasis on providing comprehensive care to children and adolescents with complex medical, developmental, and psychosocial needs.

Brittany Elmer, RN
Brittany Elmer is a registered nurse with 10 years of pediatric care experience. She worked at Children’s of Alabama with the orthopedic, neurology, and rehabilitation medicine teams for many years and is thrilled to be joining UAB for the launch of the Down Syndrome Lifespan Program. As a mom to two children with Down syndrome, Brittany is both personally and professionally invested in improving healthcare outcomes and care coordination for this patient population.

Betsy Hopson, MSHA
Betsy Hopson is the administrative director of the DS Program and STEP Program at Children’s of Alabama and UAB. Prior to her work in the STEP Program, Betsy served as the Coordinator of the Spina Bifida Program for over 15 years. In this role, she handled all aspects of care coordination, case management and transition readiness and planning. She has developed teaching tools, transition guidelines, care protocols and clinic flow operation strategies that are being used in clinics across the country. Betsy is also an international speaker and leader in transition planning for patients with complex healthcare needs and is recognized as an expert in lifespan care.
