Comprehensive Cardiovascular Center

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is a premier academic medical institution and a globally recognized leader in cardiovascular research and clinical advancement.

The UAB Comprehensive Cardiovascular Center (CCVC) serves as a university-wide hub for collaborative cardiovascular discovery, supporting high-impact team science, shared infrastructure, and multidisciplinary partnerships across the translational spectrum.

With more than 160 investigators from five UAB schools and 25 departments, the CCVC connects basic, translational, clinical, and population science to advance innovation in cardiovascular health. Since 2012, the CCVC has funded or co-sponsored more than 30 pilot awards, helping investigators generate new discoveries, build sustainable collaborations, and translate research into improved patient care and public health.
