Master's Level

Success in research requires broad knowledge of diverse scientific areas. The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics offers graduate education opportunities at the Master's and Doctoral levels. For students interested in practical educational experiences that will prepare them for a variety of careers in research or research-related fields, we offer the Master of Science in Multidisciplinary Biomedical Science (MSMBS) degree. This program offers thesis and non-thesis options for MS education.

Doctoral Level

The Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics Department also offers world class doctoral education through our partnership with the large, interdisciplinary Graduate Biomedical Sciences (GBS) doctoral training program. Within that training program, there are eight training themes, covering all areas of modern biomedical research. Students who enroll in GBS select their area of specialty and gain full access to the educational and mentoring opportunities provided by biochemistry faculty.
