Van L. Richey has served as President and CEO of American Cast Iron Pipe Company (ACIPCO) since 1989. Founded in Birmingham in 1905, ACIPCO is a global manufacturer of industrial and capital goods. Richey has served as president and CEO of American Cast Iron Pipe Company (ACIPCO) since 1989. He received his B.S. and M.B.A. degrees from the University of Alabama and completed the Advanced Management Program of Harvard Business School. He was born in Cullman, Alabama and served in the U.S. Army. His civic and community activities include the Business Council of Alabama (Past Chairman); the President’s Cabinet at the University of Alabama; the University of Alabama at Birmingham Leadership Cabinet; boards of the University of Alabama at Birmingham Health System, the University of Alabama Health Services Foundation, Newcomen Society of Alabama, Leadership Alabama (Past Chairman), the Birmingham Business Alliance, Alabama Iron & Steel Council (Vice-Chairman); the Boy Scouts of America, Leadership Birmingham, Salvation Army, Alabama Partnership for Children (Past Chairman), and Alabama Department of Archives and History. He is a member of the Alabama Children’s Policy Council and a trustee for the Alabama Council on Economic Education. He served as the Chairman of The Governor’s Commission on Early Learning. Mr. Richey is a member of the Alabama Academy of Honor.
