Kelly is the Manager of Safety Services for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. She began her safety career a little over 25 years ago at SeaWorld of Ohio. In 1998, she left her position as EHS Director at SeaWorld and moved to California to accept the position of Safety Manager at the Anheuser-Busch brewery. Two years later, she relocated to Orlando to become EHS director of SeaWorld of Florida parks. In 2009, she assumed her current position. Active in numerous organizations, she is the current chair of Women in Safety Engineering (WISE), a common interest group of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) as well as the Central Florida Chapter ASSE delegate, government affairs chair, and fundraising chair. She is also chair of the Alliance for Central Florida Safety, a grass roots organization that offers free or low cost safety training to businesses in the central Florida region. She serves on the board of a number of organizations, including the United Safety Council, the Ovarian Cancer Alliance, and the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attraction (IAAPA) Safety Committee. She is active in standards writing for ASTM F24 on amusement rides and devices. Kelly is a graduate of Kent State University, a certified occupational specialist, a certified playground inspector, and a certified food safety manager. She has spoken at a variety of safety events around the world, written numerous articles, and is a contributing author and editor of the recently released book, 100 Women Making a Difference in the Safety, Health and Environmental Profession. In 2010, ASSE honored Kelly with the society’s Diversity in the Safety, Health and Environmental Profession award.
