You can help shape UAB's future
Since 2017, UAB has partnered with ModernThink to survey employees on how well certain aspects of the university, its leadership, and its processes are working.
UAB conducted its most recent campus engagement survey in February 2023, and the institutional-level results were presented during a town hall meeting on April 19, 2023. You can view a recording of the presentation on the 2023 Survey Actions page.
UAB among Great Colleges to Work For
As part of the Campus Engagement Survey, the Great Colleges to Work For® program compares survey results from participating institutions to recognize colleges that get top employee ratings regarding workplace practices and policies.
This was UAB’s first year to be recognized as one of the best colleges in the nation to work for, according to the Great Colleges to Work For® program.

What can you do?
The campus engagement survey is an important tool that helps us to determine actions for improvement. Results from previous surveys in 2017 and 2019 were instrumental in numerous improvements — from performance management, workforce development, and employee-learning experiences to new institution-wide awards and expanded childcare services. To play your role in UAB’s response to the survey results:
- View the overall results of this year's survey and planned actions on the 2023 Survey Actions page.
- Attend your area’s town hall and get involved in any action committee/teams. Reach out to your school/unit’s leadership for more information.
- Give feedback or ideas to the Campus Engagement Survey Committee.
