The Educational Specialist in Education with a concentration in Early Childhood Education is designed for individuals who have a master's degree in early childhood education and hold current Class A certification in early childhood education and wish to earn an Ed.S. degree and Class AA certification.

Coursework takes between 31 and 34 semester hours to complete. It includes courses in teacher leadership, analysis, and evaluation of teaching, qualitative methods in education, advisor-approved electives, and a practicum in supervision. Admissions Requirements

  • Candidates must meet all of the requirements for admission to the UAB Graduate School.
  • Candidates must hold current Class A teaching certification in elementary education issued by the Alabama State Department of Education.
