Kerry Chesnut has joined the UAB School of Dentistry’s development and alumni relations team as director of development.

In her new role, Chesnut will carry a portfolio of major donors and work with the UAB Dentistry Leadership Council. She will also hire an assistant director of development, a position new to the School of Dentistry.

“We are thrilled to have Kerry join our Development and Alumni Relations team in the School of Dentistry,” says Scott Huffman, the school’s executive director of development. “She will play a key role in shaping our reunion giving and corporate giving programs.”

Following a career in retail banking and corporate sales, Chesnut joined UAB in 2018 as director of development for the School of Education. She was named the university’s director of development for regional giving in 2019.

“In her previous role with regional development, Kerry was invaluable to dentistry as she worked with several of our alumni and friends across the country,” Huffman shared. “We were fortunate to hire Kerry and she has already hit the ground running.”

Chesnut says she is excited to continue pursuing her passion of creating access and opportunities for students, patients, and alumni in Alabama and beyond.
