Flow Cytometry and Single Cell Core Facility
State-of-the-art flow cytometry, cell sorting, single-cell sequencing, and spatial omics to advance basic and clinical research.

Genomics Core Laboratories
Standard fluorescent and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), plus high- and low-throughput custom genotyping from 1 SNP to more than 5 million SNPs.

High Resolution Imaging Facility
State-of-the-art imaging resources and technical support — confocal, super-resolution, light sheet, and electron microscopy — for the UAB community.

Human Imaging Shared Facility
Advanced medical imaging resources and services supporting campus-wide research, including O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center clinical studies.

Mass Spectrometry / Proteomics Shared Facility
State-of-the-art capabilities and training in mass spectrometry, proteomics, and bioanalytic technologies supporting UAB Cancer Center members.

Metabolism Core
State-of-the-art assessments of human energy expenditure, substrate metabolism, body composition, body-fat distribution, and bone quality.

MMR-CBPR-QR
Support for mixed methods, community-based participatory research, and qualitative approaches increasingly required by funders in the social and behavioral sciences.

Preclinical Imaging Shared Facility
Supports multimodality imaging in preclinical models to accelerate the translation of basic research to human trials. Provides rapid, repeated, accurate, and cost-effective evaluation of new cancer treatments in preclinical models.

Research MRI Core
State-of-the-art MRI neuroimaging experiments and analyses for examining brain and body anatomy and function in both health and disease.

Small Animal Imaging Shared Facility (SAIF)
A multimodality imaging approach to understand disease processes in animal models, assess therapeutic response, and support translational preclinical studies.

Social Determinants of Health (SDH) Core
Enables investigators to measure social and environmental risks for disease etiology, progression, management, and outcomes — and to test interventions that ameliorate their effect.

Transgenic & Genetically Engineered Models Core (TGEM)
Production of mouse models via gene targeting and ES-cell injection, plus gene knockouts using TALEN and CRISPR/Cas9 nucleases in mice, rats, and zebrafish.
