Academic Advisor: Carin Mayo, MPA Program Manager
The MPA Program Manager assists the MPA Program Director with the MPA Program’s administrative requirements. Carin Mayo also serves as the academic advisor to MPA students (including dual-degree and ABM students) and students in the Nonprofit and Public Management Graduate Certificate programs. In this role, she can:
- Help you understand degree requirements, course selection, and schedule planning;
- Refer you to resources across campus that can boost academic performance;
- Help you understand academic policies and procedures;
- Provide information about potential areas of study;
- Assist in finding internships related to your field of interest; and
- Keep you abreast of job and volunteer opportunities in the community.

Faculty Advisor
Once admitted to the MPA program, each MPA student is paired with a member of the MPA faculty. This faculty advisor serves as an informal, non-academic advisor that can provide career advice and the like. Ideally, students meet regularly with their faculty advisor to explore their academic options and career goals.
