Students in the Undergraduate Neuroscience Program receive extensive research experience within an active neuroscience laboratory. UAB has world-class research laboratories committed to high quality research and sharing the excitement of scientific exploration with trainees. This research is part of your coursework, but it also exposes you to the professional environments in which you may work after graduation.
Faculty Mentors
Our students participate in the design, performance, analysis, and dissemination of research under guidance of a faculty mentor. Postdoctoral and graduate students will also guide you through your research project. This experience will help you learn your way around a lab, give you a deeper appreciation of your research subject, and help you acquire knowledge and skills in experimental design, data analysis, scientific writing, and oral presentation.
