Professor Corbetta has been at UAB since 2005. He is affiliated with the Department of Political Science & Public Administration and has been the director of the International Studies program since 2013. He was born and raised in Italy, came to the US to attend college, became fascinated with international relations, and decided to make a career out of it.
Corbetta teaches a variety of International Studies courses, including international law, diplomacy, and international security. His research interests include conflict management and resolution, international networks, and the role of great powers in international politics. He is the adviser for the Beta Tau chapter of Sigma Iota Rho — the International Studies honors society — and is a member of various professional organizations, including the International Studies Association (ISA) and the Peace Science Society International (PSSI).
