The best part of teaching is that I get to do what I love doing and get paid for doing it. I enjoy research and always want to share what I have learned with my students.
After a long break from teaching, I returned to college in 1997, renewed my teaching certification in 1988, and returned to teaching that fall. I taught full time at a local high school while studying for the M.A. in English, which I received from the University of Montevallo in 2001. I taught there for two years, then did post-graduate work at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro. After five years of teaching at Bevill State Community College in Summiton, AL, I came to UAB.
