Parking permits for the Spring 2023 semester will be available for purchase through the UAB Transportation website beginning 8 a.m. Dec. 1. You can find a full list of permit options, as well as pricing, on the Student Parking page.

UAB Transportation will continue to offer zone parking options. Please visit the interactive student parking map to note changes to various parking zones.

Housing students will be able to purchase Zone A or Zone H dependent upon residence hall assignment, while Zone B through Zone G will be available to commuter students. 

A few reminders about student permits:

• If you purchased a combo Fall/Spring permit at the beginning of the semester, you will not need to purchase a new Spring permit.
• A permit is required to park in a UAB parking area.
• Permits are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Permits are mailed directly to students. Be sure to provide the correct address and contact information.
• Parking fees are posted by Student Accounting at the beginning of the semester.
• You are encouraged to apply early to ensure your desired zone is available, as exchanges may not be possible.
• We expect permits to sell quickly and you are encouraged to order your permit as early as possible.

If you are unable to purchase a parking permit in your preferred zone, UAB Transportation encourages you to consider developing parking arrangements or options other than bringing a vehicle to campus. Transportation options include using public transit, carpooling, ride-hailing apps, or moving closer to campus in order to bike or walk.
