UAB Transportation is offering temporary parking options to employees and students in select locations across campus. We are able to offer this option after our team monitored the impact of phased re-entry and hybrid learning plans on parking demand. Details regarding the opportunities are below.
Employees
Employees can now temporarily switch their parking assignment to select lots and decks, including:
To request a temporary assignment in one of these areas, follow the instructions on the UAB Transportation website to complete and submit a COVID short-term parking application.
- Temporary access to the parking area will be provided on a month-to-month basis as space allows.
- Employees will be charged the regular monthly permit fee corresponding to the parking area of their new temporary assignment.
- Deck permits are $58.34 per month and surface lot permits are $50 per month.
- Employees with current permits will not receive a new hangtag. As such, please be sure to provide your current vehicle and license plate registration.
Students
Students can now exchange their current permit for select zones across campus, including:
- Zone B
- Zone D
- Zone E
- Zone F
- Zone G
There are a limited number of assignments available in each zone listed. To request an exchange, visit the UAB Transportation office at 608 8th Street South weekdays between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Students must return their current permit in order to receive a new assignment. There will be a $5 fee for the exchange.
