Request Sign Language Interpreters

• DSS (Disability Student Services) recommends at least two weeks’ notice for events short in duration (ex: presentation, informational session, lunch and learn, etc.).
• Provide at least one month’s notice for events like conferences, seminars, etc. Interpreters in the local area are limited so the more notice, the better.
• DSS will contact interpreter providers for requests being submitted on behalf of a student accommodation. Service provider information will be sent to the contact that created request if submitted so the proper point of contact and payment will be provided to provider.
• Faculty/Staff please fill out the ASL Interpreting Request Form to request a sign language interpreter.
• It is standard practice for two or more interpreters to be present for events lasting longer than one hour (training, conferences, etc.).
• DSS will continue to be available for consultation on ASL interpreter requests and for other resources that may be necessary in working with Deaf/hard of hearing populations.
