Finals preparation is exhausting. Take a break from your hard work and relax during Stress Less Week.
Student Counseling Services is hosting Stress Less Week from Dec. 3 to Dec. 7. Each day will bring a new event, providing fun ways to unwind.
Beginning Monday, Dec. 3, enjoy “Coffee and Creativity” from 12-2 p.m. in the Performance Lounge of the Hill Student Center. Caffeine, arts and crafts will be available to help student get through the their studies.
Tuesday, Dec. 4, enjoy animal-assisted therapy and a massage during “‘Paws’ for a Break.” Hand in Paw, a local non-profit organization, will bring their therapy dogs to the Green while massages will be available in the Blazer Hall RLC. The event will last from 12-2 p.m.
Meditate with Yoga Flow on “Wind Down Wednesday” Dec. 5 at 5:30 p.m. in Studio 2 of the Campus Recreation Center. Yoga Flow will offer extended meditation time. The event is open to participants at all levels of yoga experience. The first 50 people will receive a customizable coffee mug sponsored by the UAB Honors College.
“Get Fired Up” Thursday, Dec. 6. Treat yourself by roasting s’mores over the bonfire at the Mini-Park from 7-9 p.m. A DJ will provide music, and the Magic City Eats food truck will offer their menu items for sale. The first 100 visitors will get a meal voucher for a sweet from the truck!
Stress Less Week wraps up Friday, Dec. 7 with “Polar Express and PJ’s” at the Blazer Hall RLC. Get ready for the holidays with Polar Express, comfort, and a photo booth! The Magic City Eats food truck will be available again, and meal vouchers will be available to the first 100 visitors. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the film will start at 8 p.m.
