During the week leading up to Veteran's Day the Department of Veterans Services paid honor to UAB Students and staff who are veterans of the armed forces. The men and women of service were feted with food and door prizes.

The purpose of the event was to thank the veterans and their dependents for their service and sacrifice to our country. The Honorees were invited to the Veterans Services office suite located in the Hill Student Center for lunch last Tuesday and Wednesday. Door prizes included backpacks donated by Barnes & Noble bookstore as well as gift cards from businesses around Birmingham.
