Student Involvement & Leadership is gearing up for the kick-off of the 2018 Student Leader Selection! So how does the selection process work?
The Office of Student Involvement and Leadership advises five student-led programming boards, including Good Games UAB (G.G. UAB), Leadership and Service Council, Student Homecoming Committee, UAB Ambassadors Program and University Programs Board. In order to be eligible to become a member of one of these boards, students must complete the following steps:
- Select your organization(s) of interest.
- Attend at least one 2018 Information Session (Jan. 22-24).
- Meet the minimum membership requirements (provided at 2018 Information Session).
- Complete and submit an application to join.
The 2018 information sessions will take place January 22-24 in the New Freshman Residence Hall. Attendees will learn about student leader roles and be provided instruction on how to join their University Programming Board of choice. Each board will host sessions on the following dates/times:
- Monday, Jan. 22 | 5:30 p.m. & 6:15 p.m.
- Tuesday, Jan. 23 | 5:30 p.m. & 6:15 p.m.
- Wednesday, Jan. 24 | 12 p.m.
Applicants will be notified via email if they are selected for finalist interviews. Once membership rosters are announced, new members will participate in the 2018 Student Leader Retreat hosted on Sunday, March 25.
