5 UAB Sustainability Food and Dining Initiatives, including replacing 250,000 plastic straws in 2 1/2 months
This past Fall, most UAB Dining Services vendors replaced their plastic straws with eco-friendly products, while also encouraging students to reduce their use of straws. According to a UAB survey, in the first two and half months, over 250,000 plastic straws were replaced.

Walk It Out with Campus Recreation on Wednesdays in Nov.
On Nov. 1 Campus Recreation launched its Quest for 2,000 Walk it Out Program. All UAB Employees and all active UAB Campus Recreation members (both students and non-student members) can participate through Nov. 30 and be eligible to earn points towards their Quest for 2,000-Member Rewards Program.

The Student Affairs Professional Development Committee hosted a Halloween decorating contest last week for the offices and Student Involvement & Leadership, Title IX, Student Health Services, Disability Support Services and Student Counseling all participated.
