On March 30, Bemnet Teshome began his new role as the assistant director of Career Education in the UAB Career Center, helping undergraduate and graduate students translate their academic experiences into meaningful pathways.

“I am most looking forward to working with students in a capacity that I have not previously experienced. This role focuses on enhancing the overall student experience, as well as supporting professional development post-graduation, which is especially exciting to me,” said Teshome. “I am eager to expand my knowledge of college career preparation methods and training programs that equip UAB students with the tools and experiential learning opportunities they need to succeed beyond their time at UAB.” Teshome has worked in the Division of Student Affairs for the past three years, including his immediate past role as the coordinator of Off-Campus Student Engagement and time as a graduate assistant in Student Involvement and Leadership.
