Carlton “Skip” Craig and Lisa Turley were elected to the 36-member board of directors, and new officers for the executive committee were elected at the UAB National Alumni Society’s annual meeting Friday, June 22, at the McWane Center.

Craig is an assistant to the chairman of UAB Emergency Medicine. Turley is an executive assistant with the Jefferson, Blount, St. Clair Mental Health Authority. Craig and Turley will each serve a three-year term.

Anita Clemon, manager in UAB Human Resources, is the president of the UAB National Alumni Society. Gail Stephens, COO of Compass Insurance, is the immediate past president, and Brian Oakes, attorney with White and Oakes P.C., is the president-elect.

Vice presidents for the next term are Cindy Godwin, retired; Brandy Lee, attorney with Campbell, Waller & Poer, LLC; Renita Rigney, enhancement analysis, Blue Cross and Blue Shield; Janice Ward, UAB personnel officer; and Jeff Rogers, account executive with Truitt Insurance Agency Inc.

Jeff Byars, an accountant with Blue Cross and Blue Shield, will serve as treasurer. Members-at-large include Wil McGriff, student in the School of Optometry and Steve Lawrence, vice president of McGriff, Seibels & Williams, Inc.

Ex-officio members are Lois Luther, retired, and Diana Simpson, managing partner with Fee Only Planning Professionals.

UAB Athletic Director Brian Mackin, a UAB alumnus, was the guest speaker for the event.
