UAB Hospital made the Becker's Hospital Review list of "100 Hospitals With Great Women's Health Programs," because of the comprehensive, high-quality of care provided in areas such as gynecology, obstetrics, reproductive medicine and other women's health needs.
The College of Arts & Sciences will open its new home for art instruction and professional galleries Jan. 16 to provide innovative opportunities for education, share the outstanding work of our faculty and students and attract acclaimed artists to UAB. The inaugural exhibit features works culled from the private collections of some of the city’s most dedicated art collectors. A complete schedule of events for 2014 is online.
New federal legislation has established the framework for a research network to study rare pediatric diseases, an idea UAB and Children's of Alabama have long championed. UAB Professor of Pediatrics David Kimberlin, M.D., who also is president of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society, will represent Alabama on the implementation workgroup to coordinate with the NIH. UAB and Children’s will apply to become a primary site in the new network.
Abstracts are due Feb. 1 for the Health Disparities Research Symposium to be held March 20. The symposium highlights the work of faculty and student investigators related to health disparities. Download the PDF for information, and register online.
